Thai dishes are known for strong aromatic ingredients, medicinal benefits because of herbs and the spicy taste. Today we will learn about Red curry (Gaeng Daeng Gai in Thai) – a popular Thai dish. It is mostly served with steamed rice. Try this at your home and send us your reviews.
INGREDIENTS FOR GAENG DAENG:
- Coconut milk – 2 cups
- Red Chilies – 3
- Sea Salt – as per your requirement
- Red Curry Paste – 3&1/2 spoons
- Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts – 1/4 pounds
- Bamboo Shoots – 1 small can
- Basil Leaves – 1 Cup
- Kaffir Lime Leaves – 2-3
- Palm Sugar – 2 spoons
- Fish Sauce – 2 spoons
- Soy Sauce – 2 spoons
Cut diagonally Red chilies, Chicken breast, Bamboo shoots (thinner compared to chicken breasts) and keep aside. Heat one pan, add 1 cup of Coconut Milk, heat it in medium flame and stir frequently. Add Curry paste in it and stir well. When it turns little brown, add Chicken and let it cook. Now, pour remaining 1 cup of Coconut milk, bamboo shoots. If required add little water for more liquid form. When it seems little cooked, low the heat and add Basil leaves, Plam Sugar, Fish sauce, Soy sauce and Kaffir Lime leaves on top of the curry. Stop the flame and serve hot.
NOTE: If you like you can vegetables like capsicum, tomatoes, garlic while adding Chicken in the Coconut milk.
